BEAUTY: GET YOUR WINTERSKIN READY FOR SPRING
01:04:00Every winter my skin turns into a harsh, dry desert and I suffer from anything and everything from chapped lips, dry hands, patchy elbows and breakouts. While I can hide all of this during winter now that spring is approaching the hideousness can no longer be covered with big blankets and sweaters.
If you suffer from similar symptoms a pamper day may be in order. Here are my favourite products and tricks to go from winter misery to spring ready gorgeous. So prepare a nice bubble bath, pour yourself a glass of wine or make a hot cocoa and get ready:
Dry brush massage it
Before you hop into the bath get a big brush and start scrubbing your skin in circular motions. Start with you right foot moving up your leg, then your. Do the same with your arms working towards your heart. You can then move onto your tummy and your breast. This helps to stimulate blood circulation and also improves your connective tissue, which (ding, ding, ding) helps to fight cellulites. It also helps your skin with detoxifying and as it is the biggest organ that we have, that´s a whole lot of detoxing happening there, so let´s helpt it as much as we can.
Mask it
If you like me suffer from very dry face skin, this 3 in 1 Honey and Oat Scrub Mask from The Body Shop is a lifesaver. I got it in a 3 for 2 deal thing not expecting much, but now I love it. It´s not only made from two of my favourite things oats and honey, it also smells amazing and it makes my skin incredibly soft and hydrated. Apparently the hot steams from the bath enhances the effects of mask, so two birds with a stone: slap it on in the bath, leave it on for 15 minutes and you are done. 15 minutes is also how long your ideal bath is supposed to take, but who are kidding with that timeframe.
Scrub it
Now your face is as good as new, so let´s get your skin on that level too. I do not like to use peelings which particles are too big, my skin is too much of a sissy for that, but this Shea Body Scrub from The Body Shop is very fine and really helps with my dry patches.
To increase the anti cellulite effect of the dry brushing before, shower off the scrub while changing the temperature from very cold to very hot. Start and (this is the bad part) finish with cold water and change temperature five to seven times. This is also improving your connective tissue so it´s all worth it, or at least we will tell ourselves this.
Moisturize it
After all this hardcore brushing, pulling, bathing, icing and burning your skin, let´s be a little nice to it. I use a thick Shea Body Butter from The Body Shop, which seems to be the only thing doing the job for my skin during winter. When I am on the go I also really love this Lush Lemon Flutter hand and nail butter, as my hands get horribly dry, because I constantly loose my gloves. I also like to cover my lips in honey and try to keep myself from licking it off for at least five minutes, which helps better against chapped lips than any chapstick you have ever used.
There we go, you are now ready, pampered and probably exhausted so finally time for the glass of wine you poured yourself and hopefully never ever think about anything skin related until summer. What is your spring ready routine and which are your favourite pamper products?

AntwortenLöschenIch finde vor allem die Produkte von Lush im Winter immer super.
AntwortenLöschenSonst benutze ich meistens herkömmliche Produkte aus der Drogerie, meistens von Nivea. :)
