Two weeks ago I was incredibly lucky and snapped one of four invitations for our university to attend the 20th anniversary of the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance in Stockholm. What the whole event was about is explained in depth in my article for my unversity´s online magazine (where I write monthly political articles), but obviously an event also attended by Kofi Annan and the crown princess of Sweden is very much a fashion crisis as well.
I literally spent about 23 hours in Stockholm an still managed to fill a bag, that I usually take on weekend trips for four to five days.
I had about four outfits with me (including three pairs of shoes, two dresses, an optional blazer...), but ended up choosing the classic: A little black dress. One can rarely go wrong with that and even though I still felt very out of place, sitting in the Swedish Parliament surrounded by politicians, ambassadors and other very important people, having at least an outfit to fit the occasion felt good. What is your go to option for special occasions?
